I was born and raised in Louisiana. And if you know anything about Louisiana you know they love their coffee. I'd be almost willing to bet I had my fair share of bottles with milk coffee in them. And in our house there was never any thing other that Community 'Coffee.
Louisiana especially loves it's chicory coffee. Community Coffee tells us from their website that due to a coffee shortage during the Civil War, New Orleans began extending their coffee supply by adding chicory, the root of the endive plant, roasted and ground. The result was a bittersweet, heavy-bodied brew.
My family and I now live in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia and we have to make a long trip to get our beloved coffee or have it shipped to us. That is why I am so excited about this giveaway. Go enter to win and have a chance at winning the best coffee in the world!!

Song for a Fifth Child
Song for a Fifth Child
Mother, O Mother, come shake out your cloth,
Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
Hang out the washing, make up the bed,
Sew on a button and butter the bread.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.
Oh, I've grown as shiftless as Little Boy Blue,
Lullabye, rockabye, lullabye loo.
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo
The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew
And out in the yard there's a hullabaloo
But I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo
Look! Aren't his eyes the most wonderful hue?
Lullabye, rockaby lullabye loo.
The cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow
But children grow up as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs; Dust go to sleep!
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

Slushies!!!!!!!
I got this recipe, several years ago, from Hillbilly Housewife. We make it many times every summer and my kids absolutely LOVE it! It's very frugal, only about 25 cents for one whole batch!
- 2 cups ice water
- 1 packet fruit-flavored drink mix (use your favorite flavor)
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 4 cups or 1 full tray of ice cubes
You need a blender to prepare this recipe. Put all of the ingredients into your blender. It will be about 2/3 to 3/4’s full. Put the lid on. Process the mixture on high for a full minute. Stop the blender, use a spoon to stir it a bit. Look for unchopped ice chunks. If all the chunks are grated up, then go ahead and serve it. You may need to process it for another full minute though. Serve immediately. I usually have to spoon this out of the blender with a measuring cup because the mixture is so thick. Makes 4 - 8oz servings.

Egg Molds - So CUTE!

I have to have these egg molds. Maybe I'm behind on my knowledge of gadgets but I just stumbled across these accidentally. They are just adorable, my kids would love them. You can also use for rice!

3 Minute Chocolate Cake
My friend Rachel posted this recipe on her blog and I thought I'd share it on mine as well. Me and the kiddos will be trying it tomorrow. Looks easy and fun for them. Maybe a photo op lol We might add a tablespoon of peanut butter to ours. Yum!
3 - Minute Chocolate Cake
What you need:
- A coffee Mug (the larger around the better)
- 4 tbsp Flour
- 4 tbsp Sugar
- 2 tbsp Cocoa
- 1 Egg
- 3 tbsp Milk
- 3 tbsp Oil
- A splash (I used the cap) of Vanilla Extract
- 3 tbsp (optional) Chocolate chips, Nuts, or anything else you'd like to use... a glob of hot chocolate in the center would be yummy too!
What You Do:
1. Add dry ingredients to the coffee cup and mix well
2. Add the egg and all wet ingredients; mix thoroughly
3. Add the chocolate chips or other goodies and stir gently
4. Cook in microwave on high for 3 minutes. Don't be alarmed if the cake rises over the mug.
